If you’re making a list, checking it twice, crossing out entries, not knowing if they’re nice…then allow us to help you find holiday gifts your girlfriend actually wants!

Truth is, you’ve probably run out of gift ideas by now. After all the birthdays, Valentine’s, and anniversaries you’ve been through together, it’s hard not to. Luckily, we’ve put together this handy guide to gift-giving that works well on any occasion, but especially on the holidays.

The definitive guide to giving your girlfriend a holiday gift

There are tons of holiday gift idea lists on the internet, but this one is different. In this guide, we took into account the stage your relationship is in and then categorized presents accordingly.

Level 1 Gifts

Level 1 gifts are expensive presents that will pamper your girlfriend. Think fine jewelry, expensive concerts, a musical instrument, an all-expense-paid trip, or a premium gaming set.

Best for: Milestones, like your first, fifth, and tenth anniversaries or her 21st and 30th birthdays. Also for when you’re trying to make up for something serious, like a bad break or a forgotten anniversary.

Pros: These gifts are memorable and are quick to be cherished

Cons: Steep price tags

Level 2 Gifts

Presents of this kind are high in effort but low in cost. Examples are a painting of her, an original song written by you, a collection of poems written in her honor, or any artwork inspired by her.

Best for: Regular (a.k.a. non-milestone) anniversaries and birthdays. Also for when you can’t afford a Level 1 gift

Pros: These gifts aren’t straining on the wallet! Plus nothing tops a thoughtful, handcrafted gift

Cons: These presents can be time-consuming

Level 3 Gifts

These are presents that require an average amount of money or an average amount of effort. Think expensive makeup, a dinner date to a fancy restaurant, a permanent makeup session, a set of paints, or a collector’s item of her favorite TV show, movie, or book.

Best for: Regular anniversaries or birthdays, especially when budget isn’t at an all time high.

Pros: These are easy to plan and acquire

Cons: They might not seem too personal (easily remedied by including a heartfelt letter!)

Level 4 Gifts

Presents of the 4th level are low-cost and low-effort. Good examples would be a date at a free or inexpensive museum, a bouquet of flowers, a new edition of her favorite book, a good sketchbook, or a planner for the new year.

Best for: Regular days when you wanna make her smile

Pros: Low-cost! Low-effort!

Cons: Hopefully you don’t run out of ideas in the first five years of being together…

Level 5 Gifts

Level 5 presents are cheap, easy, and practical. Think socks, face masks, a set of nice pens, or a cool shirt.

Best for: Regular birthdays and anniversaries….after three or four years together. Also for special occasions on a deadline or budget.

Pros: Cheap and easy! Also a good opportunity to show her that you pay attention to her needs (you wouldn’t give someone socks if they didn’t mention they needed it in the first place).

Cons: Could be trouble if she’s into expensive stuff. You might seem like you’re skimping on the gift-giving.

The best boyfriend ever is coming to town…

…and he’s loading up on fantastic holiday presents. Of course, we at Organic Permanent Makeup think that nothing quite beats the gift of time. If you’re angling for more cuddle time in the morning, give her one less thing to do before work!

If your girl is into eyebrow makeup, consider booking her an all-expense-paid trip to OPM. Our services have:

  • Zero side effects
  • Zero down time
  • Compatibility with all skin types
  • Lasting power of up to two years

For the Christmas-crazy, nothing is safe from the Holiday spirit. Not home decor, not outfits, not even eyebrows. Get in the spirit, and check out these Christmas tree brows!

What’s bold, green, and reminds us of the most festive time of the year?

If you answered “Christmas trees,” you’d be correct. If you answered “eyebrows”—well, you wouldn’t be wrong, either. ‘Tis the season to bust out the creativity, after all.

Wait, what?

Christmas tree brows. They’re fun, they’re festive, and they look great in photos. Need a holiday-themed Instagram post, an eye-catching party look, or a quirky challenge for your makeup skills? Maybe all three?

If you are, then Christmas tree brows are the gift that keeps on giving. And we’ve got Instagram user @taytay_xx to thank.

The trend actually began in the 2017 holiday season, but it’s made a huge comeback this year. @taytay_xx debuted her brows decked with boughs of holly, and who could have resisted?

Especially since the look is actually quite easy to recreate! Here’s how:

  1. Using Vaseline or hair wax, separate the strands of your brows from the middle until they look like tree branches.
  2. Depending on your preference, you can use green eyeshadow, eyebrow pens, or glitter to give your brows a green hue.
  3. Bedazzle your brows with fancy gems and stars!

Here are other brow-spirations for your holiday arches:

Are you losing more hair than you should be? If you’re worried about going bald, read on to find out the hair loss signs you shouldn’t ignore.

Have you ever combed your hand through your hair only to discover a messy clump on your palm? Either you have, or you worry that you will. Then good news is: your hair loss might be perfectly normal.

Hair shedding vs. hair loss

Humans lose an average of 50 to 100 strands of hair per day. If you’re losing more than that, then that’s the time you should start being concerned.

Of course, no one expects you to count the number of strands you lose in a day. However, you do need to look our for excessive hair shedding (telogen effluvium).

The American Academy of Dermatologists emphasizes the difference between hair shedding and hair loss. Hair shedding happens to everyone, particularly during a stressful period in a person’s life.
“Losing over 100 hairs per day—or 700 hairs per week—would be classed as excessive and may indicate an underlying issue which is causing the hair cycle to shorten and shed more hairs than normal per day,” trichologist Iain Sallis told INSIDER.

Any of these following situations could lead to hair shedding:

  • Losing 20 pounds or more
  • Giving birth
  • Experiencing lots of stress
  • Suffering from high fever
  • Undergoing an operation
  • Recovering from an illness
  • Stopped birth-control pills

Hair loss (anagen effluvium), on the other hand, occurs when there is something preventing your hair from growing.

While hair shedding is resolved on its own, hair loss requires that you address the underlying cause first. Otherwise, your body will remain unable to produce hair.

There are several possible causes for hair loss, including:

  • Hereditary hair loss
  • Immune system overreactions
  • Hairstyles that pull on the hair
  • Harsh hair care products
  • A compulsion to pull out one’s hair

“For women with long hair, feeling their ponytail has reduced in diameter—called the ponytail test—or noticing areas of [the] scalp which were covered but now are not—such as a receding hairline—should be classed as signals for potential hair loss problems and should be checked out,” Salis explained.

Hair loss signs you shouldn’t ignore

Apart from losing chunks of hair, there are other clues your body could be giving you about hair loss.

Check out these hair loss signs you shouldn’t ignore:

  1. Polycystic ovary syndrome. Women suffering from PCOS are more likely to suffer from hair loss, as well.
  2. Gradual thinning on the top of your head. The hair generally begins to thin at your hairline, but this is more evident in men than in women.
  3. Circular or patchy bald spots. You might experience some itchiness prior to losing clumps of hair, as well.
  4. Scaly patches across your body. These patches are signs of ringworm presence in the body and are indicative of possible hair loss.

Visit a doctor if you’re worried about hair loss

There’s no point in postponing a visit to your doctor. If you’re exhibiting the symptoms detailed above, you should get a check-up. Hair loss may or may not be a sign that there’s something else going on in your body.

Note: Organic Permanent Makeup offers scalp micropigmentation for those suffering from hair loss and wish to regain their head-full-of-hair look. While scalp micropigmentation is no way a treatment for hair loss, it’s an ideal option for cosmetic purposes. Our scalp micropigmentation uses all-natural pigments, making the procedure safe and compatible for all skin types.

Unique holiday gift ideas for moms

There’s no one in the world more worth splurging on than our moms. No gift could possibly repay them for giving birth to us and raising us, but that doesn’t mean we should stop trying. Check out these unique holiday gift ideas for moms—and give them a Christmas they likely won’t forget.

Before making this list, we asked ourselves: what do moms want for Christmas? The answer, of course, was “It depends.”

Some moms enjoy being splurged on, while others are a bit uncomfortable at being spent huge amounts of money for. And, obviously, the perfect gift takes their personalities and interests into consideration.

That’s why we’ve made a list (and checked it twice!) that recommends a gift for different kinds of moms. Their common denominator? All these gift ideas will guarantee a bright smile from mother dearest.

For the sporty mom

If you’ve got a mom that spends more time at the gym than even you do, then she probably already has an army of fitness helpers. Her home is likely full of Fitbits, running shoes, yoga mats, and fruit shake blenders. What else could you possibly give her?

A muscle massager

It’s no secret that the more we age, the sores our muscles get after extreme physical activity.

Give your mom a sturdy, reliable massager that will help her sort out sore muscles, so she can stay active the whole day!

We refrained from recommending a particular product because choosing which kind of massager to buy is up to you!

You can get her a massage chair or a handheld back massager. Why not throw an all-expense-paid spa day, too? Make it a post-holiday bonding activity, and she’ll thank the stars for such a thoughtful, loving daughter.

For the strong, independent mom

Some moms are dads, too.

If you and your siblings have your own places, then mom probably has her own place and her own group of friends she hangs out with.

Give mom something that keeps her entertained, gives her something to talk about with friends, and shows her how much you appreciate her strength.

A best-selling book on women empowerment

Now, you might be thinking, “Wait a minute, a book isn’t that unique!” But that’s only true if you grab a random book from your local bookstore, hoping mom will take a liking to it.

Books are great gifts because they’re personal. They show that you put a lot of thought into choosing a gift, as well as demonstrates that you truly know a person because you know their taste in books.

Here are a few recommendations from this year’s best-seller’s list:

Non-fiction: Fed Up: Emotional Labor, Women, and the Way Forward by Gemma Hartley

Fiction: Hazards of Time Travel by Joyce Carol Oates

Make sure to include a heartfelt letter that explains why you chose the book you chose. And highlight all the ways your mom has inspired you through the years!

For the mom-on-the-go

Is your mom incapable of sitting still?

Some moms find spending hours at home boring. They’re always either hands-on grandmas, running their own businesses, saving the environment, or simply hanging out with their girl friends!

When your mom can’t be bothered to slow down (life does begin at 40, after all!), here’s how you can make her holidays happy.

Organic eyebrow microblading

Permanent makeup is the best way for anyone to stay glam without wasting several hours and dollars a day on a tiresome makeup routine!

After just one session, your mom’s brows will look as great as they did when she was your age. Organic eyebrow microblading is painless and safe for all skin types.

And the best part? It only takes no more than an hour! Your mom’s schedule won’t suffer for the sake of beauty.

Check your area for places offering eyebrow microblading, but bear in mind that traditional eyebrow microblading uses metal-based ink pigments.

If you’re looking for an environment-friendly and safer alternative, check out our offers on organic eyebrow microblading. Our pigments are food- and mineral-based and are administered by the best in the business. Our very founder actually invented organic microblading pigments!

What moms want more than anything…

…is to spend time with you! That’s why all the unique holiday gift ideas for moms on this list are perfect for mother-daughter bonding.

Book a spa day, talk about mom’s new book by the bonfire, or help her choose the eyebrow shape that fits her best! Nothing expresses happy holidays more than time well spent together.

tips for avoiding chapped lips during the winter

Dry, chapped lips are a common occurrence during the cold season—but you shouldn’t have to endure them every year. Read on to find out our top tips for avoiding chapped lips during the winter.

Treating dry lips don’t just alleviate your discomfort. It also allows you to enjoy the holidays to the fullest. Nothing puts a damper on your relaxation and family time like the pain of having dry lips. And when you treat chapped lips, you don’t have to worry about what to eat and what not to eat, either.

Best of all? Soft, silky lips are the perfect canvas to the perfect Holiday treat: a newly-contoured lip you can debut at the start of the new year.

Why does winter cause chapped lips?

First things first: understanding why we get chapped lips during winter.

We already know that dehydration and repeated lip licking cause dry lips all year round. But what about when it’s cold? While the abovementioned reasons are still common causes for dry lips, there’s another guilty party.

The brisk, wintry air might be a delightful treat, but it’s also the culprit behind painfully dry lips.

“Dry weather and wind is a common cause,” Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd, dermatologist and founder of Specific Beauty, told Huffington Post.

She explains that the weather also tends to aggravate one other cause of chapped kissers.

“Low humidity increases evaporation from the lips and causes dryness and cracking,” she said.
“Repeated lip licking removes the skin’s natural lipids, which then causes the person to develop a cycle of licking lips to try to relieve the dryness.”

Tips for avoiding chapped lips during the winter

Ever wished you could be a Disney princess? Because we do. Particularly during winter, we’d give anything to be Elsa from Frozen—after all, the cold doesn’t bother her.

Until we get immunity from the cold, however, we can rely on these tips for avoiding chapped lips during the winter.

They’re easy enough to memorize: exfoliate, treat, and maintain.

1. Exfoliate

The first thing we need to do is get rid of the dry, flaky skin. There are several ways to exfoliate your lips, and you can choose whichever suits you best:

  • Brush your lips after brushing your teeth. Make exfoliation part of your nightly routine! Simply use your toothbrush to gently brush your lips once a week.
  • Use your favorite lip scrub. Check out the holiday skin care sales for a lip scrub in a scent that will make you look forward to treating your lips.
  • DIY your scrub. Need to scrub ASAP? Don’t worry—your kitchen probably has everything you need already. Mix one part honey and three parts brown sugar, and voila! Instant DIY scrub.

2. Treat

Now that your skin is free to breathe again, it’s time to give it some loving.

Use lip balm every morning before you put on any lip makeup. This primes your lips for color, as well as prevents them from drying throughout the day.

At night, use a deep moisturizer like coconut oil or a commercial lip repair treatment.

3. Maintain

Remember that skin care is not about how expensive your products are, it’s about how compatible they are with your skin and how religiously you use them.

Exfoliate once a week, and use a lip deep treatment every night. Skin care is about consistency—with the proper dedication, you’ll have beautiful, soft lips in time for Christmas dinner!

Still worried whether or not your lips are primed for your organic lip contouring? Drop us a message, and one of our expert microblading artists will get back to you, stat.

eyebrow shape

Finding the right eyebrow shape for your face doesn’t have to be so difficult. In fact, once you figure out which eyebrow shape best works for you, you can instantly transform your look. The power of the brow is very real, and we’re here to guide you on how to choose the eyebrow shape that’s most flattering to your face. Why? Because not all eyebrow shapes work with every face length, width and other facial features. Brows can make or break your entire beauty look. You should look for an eyebrow shape that complements all of your features.

How To Find The Right Eyebrow Shape For Your Face

For round faces…

Best eyebrow shape: For people with round faces, it’s recommended to go for a brow that has a high arch. This makes the face look less broad, as it draws attention upward. More height equals to more length to the face, and can make your eyes appear more open. Stay away from rounded brows, as these brows can only draw more attention to your round shaped face.

How to get the look: Because you’re aiming for a higher arch, you’ll need to look for a brow pencil or pen that’s a bit lighter than your natural brow color. From the start of your brow, draw soft feathers upward, and then as you reach the tail, slowly change direction to form the arch. Blend the product using an eyebrow brush or spoolie to make it look natural.

Celebrities with high-arched eyebrows: Kelly Clarkson, Adele

For heart-shaped faces…

Best eyebrow shape:  Those with heart-shaped faces will fall in love with rounded brows that have low arches. What works for your face shape are soft, curvier lines that complement the roundness of the upper half of your face. And, because your chin area is a bit more sharp, be very extra careful not to create an arch that’s too high.

How to get the look: Using an eyebrow powder kit, draw curved strokes through your brows, filling them in while creating a naturally soft shape. Don’t draw straight lines, as this can create a sharper brow, which is something you want to avoid.

Celebrity with this brow: Reese Witherspoon

For square faces…

Best eyebrow shape: It’s a fact that the square face is the most defined look, so you’ll need to draw attention AWAY from the jawline. Do this by creating a thick brow that will really draw attention to the top half of the face. Make sure your brows are lined boldly — for this face shape, you shouldn’t hold back on using a lot of product.

How to get the look: On top of your usual eyebrow product, use brow tint or brown mascara to make your brows look even darker.

Celebrity with this brow: Keira Knightley

For oval faces…

Best eyebrow shape: Aren’t you lucky! People with oval faces have it easy when it comes to brows. Your typical angled eyebrow will work, but you could also rock high arches as well as straight brows. Just don’t go overboard.

How to get the look: Using the eyebrow makeup product of your choice, apply product through your brow hairs, following the natural curve. To make your brows look more clean, tweeze stray brow hairs underneath the eyebrow.

Celebrity with this brow: Kate Middleton

For long faces…

Best eyebrow shape: Straight brows. This will make your face appear “wider”, evening out its length.

How to get the look: Create a straight line underneath your brow. The, using a pencil or eyebrow powder, create soft strokes towards the temples. Be very careful that you don’t draw an arch! Blend the product out using a spoolie.

Celebrity with this brow: Sarah Jessica Parker

Pssst… our little secret

If you want to know the best brow shape for your face, but aren’t quite sure, you can consult us during your microblading session. What’s microblading? It’s the best-kept celebrity secret to getting the perfect brows. Here’s why so many celebrities are microblading their brows.

facial hair

In theory, facial hair removal is fairly simple. You just have to get your tweezers or wax out, and then pluck or strip away. But, in reality, facial hair removal is a bit more complicated than just tweezing away. This is because the skin on your face is more sensitive than the rest of your body, which means your skin can respond differently to all sorts of facial hair removal techniques. If you don’t want to look like a tomato every time you get rid of facial hair, you’ll want to treat facial hair removal more seriously.

The first step is to begin mapping your face into segments or zones, because each zone will react differently.

Side note: if you’re on your period, you might want to wait a few days. Being on your period means your skin will be more sensitive, and that your pain resistance will be lowered.

Removing Eyebrow Facial Hair

To get rid of eyebrow hair, go for plucking or tweezing.

Stay away from modern, techy techniques like lasers and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). You could also wax, but waxing typically breaks hairs, which is why most facialists and skin experts do NOT advise waxing your eyebrows away. Besides, if you wax, you have less precision and could potentially wax your entire brows off. Stick to the safer, old-school technique of plucking and tweezing so you won’t have to deal with annoying ingrown hairs.

If you DO make a mistake with waxing, there’s a quick fix to that: microblading. By microblading your brows, you can fill in those annoying gaps without having to worry about your brows smudging or fading… ever. OPM offers microblading treatments that last for up to five years.

You can click here to book an appointment today.

Removing Lip Hair

To say goodbye to your ‘stache, wax or thread it away.

Hair removal creams are a wonder because they’re painless, easy to apply, and affordable, but one piece of advice: never leave them on for too long, as the chemicals can be harsh on your skin. You don’t want to walk around sporting a burnt upper lip, do you?

Another option is shaving, but be prepared to feel some stubbly bits as your hair grows back. Waxing is a good choice, as well, but intense pain WILL be involved no matter how much numbing cream you use! One trick to fight after-wax pain is to have some ice wrapped in a towel nearby. Apply the cold towel onto your upper lip when you’re done waxing,

Removing Chin Hair

Removing chin hair depends on how much chin hair you actually have. If there’s not much, you could go with plucking your hair, but if there are lots of tiny, annoying hairs on your chin, you could go for laser treatments to get rid of them for good.

But, if your chin hair is unnoticeable, there’s really no need to go for chin hair removal. Trust us, people won’t be staring at your chin when they talk to you! Not unless they are obsessed with chins for some strange reason, anyway.

DIY Skincare

What if we told you that everything you needed to save your skin from becoming rough and dull is sitting in your kitchen? That’s right! There are dozens of home remedies that can make your skin glowing and beautiful once again. These DIY skincare hacks will make you save money on products as well as save your skin!

DIY Skincare Secrets for Beautiful Skin

As you age, your skin also ages because of the breaking down of your skin’s natural moisture barrier. This results in dry, rough skin. At this point, it’s crucial to hydrate in order to save your skin! One DIY skincare hack is to use cocoa powder to replenish your skin’s moisture, giving you a fresh and youthful appearance. Mix a tablespoon of cocoa powder with 1 tablespoon of sour cream, 1 tablespoon of honey, and one egg white. Apply the mixture all over your face, letting it try before rinsing. Aside from helping your skin moisturize, it also helps tighten and firm!

Do your hands feel rough? Does your significant other complain that your hands aren’t as soft as they once were? If you answer YES to these questions, it’s time to apply this DIY skincare hack! Heat around two to three cups of whole milk in a microwave. While it’s warm, soak your hands in the milk for five to ten minutes. Milk has Vitamins A and E that are known to help with dry and damaged skin.

If you’ve been struggling with oily skin, you should already be familiar with the term “pH level”. If you have oily skin, you’re going to need to regulate your pH levels to remove excess oil. This DIY skincare secret uses one major ingredient: apple cider vinegar, which is a natural cleanser. Mix 3 teaspoons of ground oats with 1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix it until it turns into a pasty mixture. add a fourth tablespoon of lemon juice and half a tablespoon of brown sugar. Then, apply it onto your face for five to ten minutes. Rub in circular motions, then rinse it off with warm water. Remember to PAT DRY, not RUB DRY!

So, you want kissable lips. We got you. Using 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of raw honey, 2 tablespoons of raw sugar, and a few splashes of lemon juice, mix all of those ingredients in a bowl. Once you create a “paste”, use a toothbrush to rub it into your lips. VERY gently, scrub it in a circular motion. Rise it off afterward.A

Aside from this DIY skincare hack, if you want even better-looking lips, we also recommend checking out lip contouring.

We all want to stay young forever, and although that isn’t entirely possible, at least we can LOOK young. To achieve ageless skin, use half a fresh papaya (without seeds, of course!) and mix it with one tablespoon of Greek yogurt, one tablespoon of white tea (cooled), 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 organic egg. Turn it into a paste before applying all over the neck and face. Let it sit for twenty to thirty minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. This is one DIY skincare secret that we’ll be using for AGES!

BONUS HACK: If you’re into organic stuff, why don’t you check out ORGANIC MICROBLADING?

Korean beauty standards

There are beauty standards, but there are also Korean beauty standards, which belong to a completely different level. But what are Korean beauty standards, exactly? Korean makeup and beauty are taking huge leaps in the industry, so we’re wondering if we are actually considered beautiful or at least presentable in the eyes of Korean beauty gurus and industry experts. You might have heard of some of them already: fair skin to the point of looking glass-like, a sharp jaw line, and big, doll eyes.

Here are some of the Korean beauty standards for women that you might wanna take note of if you want to achieve the perfect Korean beauty look.

Korean Beauty Standards for Women

Head Size

For most Koreans, a smaller head size is preferred. The tinier your head is, the better. If you take a look at photos of famous Korean celebrities, you’ll see that most of them have tiny heads under big, bold hair. Ideally, the head to body ration is 1:8, which is a bit extreme for some, but in Korean beauty standards, it’s what works. This applies to both men and women.

Forget about contouring! Korean beauty standards dictate that a full and round head is beautiful! Specifically, a forehead that shows off a pronounced brow bone.

The farther your eyebrows are from your eyes, the better. Koreans like having a significant distance between the brows and the eyes. High eyebrows are beautiful, but they’re even more beautiful if they look straight and natural. Get Korean eyebrows by going for organic microblading.

RELATED: Why organic microblading is the future of the industry

Two things make your eyelid pass Korean beauty standards: sunken eyes that make you look a bit older, and a double eyelid. Koreans are known for their obsession for the double eyelid, some even going for plastic surgery just to achieve that look. Of course, if your eyes aren’t naturally big, even having double eyelids won’t be enough!

While the rest of the world would love long noses, Korean beauty standards state that a nose should be medium high, and with a round tip. Basically, your nose has to look like a button. The more defined your nose is, the less beautiful you are in their eyes.

Even though it isn’t as emphasized as the rest of the Korean beauty standards, a V-shaped jaw is still better. Second to the V-shaped face is the round face, and then the square face.

Korean beauty is known for its generous use of blush, resulting in a sun-kissed, drunken look. This is why, in Korea, it’s preferred to have round cheeks instead of high, pointed cheekbones. In fact, many Korean girls go for fat injections to make their cheeks look fuller.

Asians are known for being a bit short, which is why people who are above the average height are considered more attractive in Korea. They prefer women who have a slender, model-like figure instead of those who have heights of 5’3″ and below.

Fair skin is a MUST in Korean beauty standards. You should have fair skin that looks glowing and glass-like. Women who are a bit tan are still considered pretty, but a woman with white, glass skin is considered beautiful.

beauty innovations

Today, beauty just isn’t about finding the right facial mask or using the best serum for your skin. Many manufacturers are turning to science and technology to revolutionize the way consumer see the beauty industry. Now, beauty innovations have changed the game, from using light therapy for the skin, to using a color matching system to find the right foundation shade for you.

Here are some of the most interesting beauty innovations out there:

Beauty innovations that will change the beauty game

Beauty Innovation 1: Baby Quasar Light Therapy

Apparently, light therapy can help boost cellular growth by up to 200 percent, which means your skin’s healing process will also speed up. This was actually implemented by NASA for their astronauts, with a device that could help treat cuts in space. For us down on earth, we can make use of Baby Quasar’s light therapy tools to help reduce wrinkles, reduce pores, and even give us smoother skin.

Beauty Innovation 2: Clarosonic

You’ve probably heard of this brand already. Clarosonic has been producing exfoliating brushes that use technology that protects sensitive skin. It uses a timer that tells you whenever you need to move the brush to another part of your face. This technology ensures that you exfoliate deep without hurting your skin.

Beauty Innovation 3: Organic Microblading

Ever been a rush and didn’t have time to do your brows? Organic microblading is the solution. Microblading is a technique where very tiny needles are used to draw semi-permanent strands of hair onto the eyebrows. At OPM, we use organic semi-permanent ink that doesn’t fade nor turn blue, because no one wants that! The ink lasts up to five years and is only drawn on the superficial layers of the skin, so it’s basically pain free.

Here’s everything you need to know about microblading.

Beauty Innovation 4: Sephora Color IQ

How many times have you tried on foundation at the store, thought it look alright, but then when you put it on at home, you realize you look weird? To stop this from happening, Sephora collaborated with Pantone to create a color-matching system. It would take a photo of your skin under dark light, and then accurately identify your skin color. No more mismatched foundations here, ladies!

Beauty Innovation 5: Revlon File ‘n Peel 6-in-1 Nail File

Now this is a very budget-friendly beauty innovation that you can find at your nearest drugstore. Revlon’s nail file introduces peeling and reusing, so once you’re done with one layer, simply peel it off to reveal a fresh layer that’s ready for you to use. It’s very economical, because you get to have SIX nail files in one!

Beauty Innovation 6: Osmosis Skincare

Out in the sun? Drink this product every two to four hours so that you can work on your tan and protect yourself from harmful ultraviolet rays. Osmosis Skincare uses technology that can neutralize both UVA and UVB. This mean it reduces redness and inflammation that you can get from tanning out in the sun. Think about it as something like sunblock, except you drink it instead of spreading it all over your body.
