Kylie Jenner ditched her lip fillers and so should you
In a move that surprised many fans and non-fans alike, billionaire businesswoman Kylie Jenner has ditched the lip fillers that helped launch her widely successful makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics.
The reality star posted photos on Instagram in July that got her followers scratching their heads, trying to figure out why Kylie looked…different. It was only when Kylie herself replied to a comment that the difference became clear.
“She looks like the old Kylie here idk why,” wrote one of Kylie’s followers. The star herself commented back. Kylie wrote, “I got rid of all my filler”—complete with a couple of ‘shocked face’ emojis.
Kylie previously admitted to being insecure about her lips. She also relayed how that insecurity helped her start her makeup line.
“I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident,” Kylie told her sister Kim Kardashian in an interview for the Evening Standard. “I feel like people could see that it’s authentic to me, and it was organic, and it just worked!”
Kylie Cosmetics is famous for its line of lip kits, which are notoriously impossible to buy—because they get sold out in a matter of seconds.
Can you get rid of lip fillers?
It’s unclear if the 20-year-old let her lip fillers dissolve naturally or if she had them removed.
“While hyaluronic acid (the ingredient in lip fillers, which lasts about 6 months) naturally dissolves overtime as your body metabolizes it, it is also reversible,” Dr. David Shafer told Elite Daily.
“An injectable enzyme called hyaluronidase can ‘melt’ the filler almost instantly,” the New York-based plastic surgeon added.
This is good news for anyone who’s been wanting to make the switch from lip fillers to a more natural and authentic look.
Lip fillers may look great, but they need to be re-injected every six months, like Dr. Shafer said. While that works great for stars like Kylie and the rest of the KarJenner family, it might not be practical for everyone else.
So, why should you ditch your lip fillers, and what’s a good alternative?
Permanent lip contour is better than lip fillers
Lip fillers don’t do more than make your lips plumper. They’re also very quick to dissolve. What if there was a way to get fuller-looking lips in a gorgeous color? And what if it lasted up to five years?
Sounds better? Well, that’s exactly what lip contouring does for you.
Lip contouring has a ton of possibilities: it can create fuller-looking lips, balance uneven lips, correct uneven lip colors, and even create a stunning ombre lip.
The procedure only takes 40 to 60 minutes at the hands of our lip contour experts. It’s safe, gorgeous, and—best of all—it’s all natural.
That’s right; Organic Permanent Makeup is the only US brand whose lip contouring pigments are 100% organic. Not only are our pigments allergy-free, they also last longer than inorganic pigments and are compatible with all skin types.
